Stupid Doctors!!!! Ignorant Me!!!

I really need some help, so someone please respond...This is my first TTC(hence the "ignorant me") and I just got off BC in September. I haven't had an AF since then. Took 2 hpts that were -, was told by an on-call nurse to take the second one today and if - go do blood test. So I did all that this morning. Now just let me tell you how this is new ins. I am on and am not familiar at when you need a referral or not, nor have I seen an ob/gyn on this insurance and I don't really care for not being able to go to my dear old faithful dr. Anyway, the on-call nurse told me if the blood came back - then call my doc....which I haven't seen ever before..so, of course the blood came back - and they thought i was stupid when I called the clinic telling them of my problems...she actually asked me "well so what are you wanting me to do" and I told her I don't know I have never missed a period or been late. Isn't there something to give me to induce my period, where at that point she said "well sure I guess if you really want one" By now, i was extremely frustrated that I just said forget it and hung up the phone. Is there anyone out there who could calm my nerves? Can nurses these days really be so unconcerned about a persons health...I mean who is to say something else is not wrong with me...she didn't even ask for my name or my history. I didn't not expect to become pg within the first month but how can i conceive if I don't get my AF...I am helpless without it. and I do not have much time.....Thanks for reading.....

It's a sad fact that health care is not what it used to be...health care workers are overworked and understaffed- and I think tend to forget about why they chose that field in the first place. As for your missed AF, It is fairly common after going off BC to have irregular periods- at least for the first few months. Your body has to adjust to the changes in hormone levels...

Please rememver that no one knows a womans body better then the woman herself. If you feel like something is wrong, then make an appointment- and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it. If the nurse or receptionist end up giving you a hard time- find a way to let the doctor know. Sometimes they don't have a clue about whats going on!

Best of luck to you!

Thanks for your response...I am fairly sure nothing is wrong. I am just so anxious to start trying again and know it is possible I could conceive and my husband is scheduled to go out of town on business in the next few weeks for a while. Just in a hurry...although I have always been considered impatient...:) go figure :)Thanks alot!!
