I usually don'g ovulate and take progesterone to trick my body into AF. In the past year, i have used the progesterone almost every month and started AF within 2 days. My last dose was on 10-10 and still no period. Well, I went to the DR today and they did a urine pg test and it was neg...I'm OK with that. But, my DR who is supposed to be "the best of the best" seems totally ignorant. He said that sometimes the progesterone isn't strong enough in the pill form to induce AF and that he would give me a shot...when I asked why the pill had been strong enough the rest of the past year, but not this month he just said "I don't know, sometimes our bodies are different". I would rather he told me that there was something wrong so that at least i knew why i was late. GRRRRR. So they gave me a progesterone shot and said if AF doesn't show in 2weeks to call them and they will check into problems with my hormone levels, but personally i'm worried about cysts or something like that. After the shot he gave me a script for Clomid and said to take it days 5-9 after AF starts and what days to have intercours....my husband and I never in this visit once said that we were wanting to get on clomid so that we could try to get pg. A baby would be great, but money is very tight. We aren't TTC, but aren't not TTC. So, now we have to decided if I want to take the Clomid and start trying for a family. We have been together for 5 yrs and lived together all of that time. We were married in July. I really want to be a mother right now, but I'm afraid of the financial situation of having a baby, we have a lot of credit card bills and i would like to pay some off first but at this rate they'll never be paid off. What do you guys think?

Thanks,

It really sounds like your "best of the best" doctor is used to dealing with women who are desperate to get pg. You would think that he would have asked you if that was what you were wanting, though, too. I guess most women are not aware of their cycles and ovulation unless they are TTC. I am impressed that you are as aware as you are! Kudos to you for taking care of yourself- and I hope that things turn out the way you want them to!

I know how you feel. When my DH and I started all of this, we had the "if it happens, it happens" attitude. Now I'm like a woman obsessed. I'm beginning to wonder why it hasn't happened.

As far as finances go, I don't know if there is ever a "good" time to TTC. It always seems there is somewhere for the money to go. But if you do have debt, I would try to sort that out first. That way you don't feel burdened later! Just my thought... HOpe it helps. Good luck!
