I take birth control pills religiously. Unfortunately, I was recently stuck without my luggage and my pills while on vacation with my husband. I missed two days of pills, but followed up like I was supposed to (2 pills when I could, 2 pills the next day, then regular cycle). I took a 72-hour morning after pill just barely within the 72-hour window after the possible conception date to further decrease my odds.
However, I have been experiencing discomforting symptoms for the past two weeks (since potential conception). The symptoms seem to be increasing, but I'm not sure if that is because I am more aware and concerned now.
My symptoms have included tight stomach (and discomfort doing normal things like bending a certain way), feeling of fullness (almost like the food is piling up to my throat, even though I am eating relatively lightly), constant heartburn and acid reflux, gas, stomach butterflies when I lay down to sleep at night, occasional rapid heart beat and a sense of panic, short hot flashes mixed with chills, fuller breasts with some itching but no pain, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, and lack of appetite. I am also experiencing other symptoms that are normal for me, like frequent urination.
I am 25 years old and happily married, but still trying to set my path in life. I take the GRE in one week, and I am having trouble focussing on studying for this because of this huge unknown. My husband and I would be very happy to have our first child now, but we would like more financial stability before we feel that we are ready. Nevertheless, I can't hide a smile when I think that I might be pregnant.
I am posting this because I know that other women are experiencing these symptoms and are very nervous like me about what might be going on inside of them. I will take the First Response pregnancy test tomorrow morning, four days before I expect my period. I will let you know the results.

if it doesn't turn out, don't get discouraged. not very many woman get that early of results "or so i've heard." sounds to me like you could be pregnant. i'd wait until your miss your period to test a second time. that way you will get a more accurate result and save your money. however these symptoms you said you have, could also be anxiety. thats nothing to worry about, but it just causes discomfort.
