Dear Ladies,

I am going crazy and would appreciate some sound advice. Since December the average length of my cycle has been 32 days. I am currently in day 29 of my cycle and have not started my period. I have experienced nausea at times, as well as fatigue and lightheadness, and as of late have an increased appetite. I am eager to do a home pregnancy test because I have been having a hunger pains (this is highly unsualy for me b/c I have lost weight and really started to eat right ... not late night snacking, eating the right foods, etc and have not had "hunger pains" since I started my diet in January) and am concerned that if I am pregnant I am hurting the baby. I have a doctors appointment on Monday with my endocronologist for a yearly checkup (2- hour glucose test - I had gestational with my first child). This appointment is reason for concern because I am not sure of the effects this test could have early in a pregnancy. I am not quite sure they could test for pregnancy whethter it be blood or urine form. So here is my dilemma ... Do I perform an at home pregnancy test or do I wait to go to the doctors to see if they could help with my situation? And, would any happen to know if they drew blood to perform a pregnancy test, how long would it take to get the results?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

To put my mind at ease I would just have the doc office do a blood test, takes Kaiser permenante 45 mins to get the results back to my doc. I say go ahead with the blood test becase 1 - u will already be at the docs 2 - if you get a BFN from the preg test you will still have doubts, what ifs? to alleviate that I would just get the blood test done. I am pretty sure they will do it after you tell your suspicisions.
