Is there a right/wrong way to test?

By using the self at home tests is there a right or wrong way to do them. I can't really pee on them so I use a cup and dip it in there, thought that was right until I glanced over the box again(& I read and reread all the instructions before) and noticed it said to pee on the tip. If I dip the whole thing in will it affect the results or is it fine to do that? I wasn't sure if I have been doing them wrong this entire time and I don't remember seeing that before. Thanks in Advance.

You can use a cup if you'd like, but make sure you don't submerge the tip for longer than 10 seconds (for most tests). However, it does depend on the test. Instructions for the ones (many of them) I've used say to dip no longer than 5-10 seconds. (10 seconds to me is still too long.) As long as the pee is getting on the stick, it really shouldn't matter. The thing you need to remember is not to overdue it; it could cause the test to malfunction.
