Kristy,
I can't tell you one way or the other, but it is soooo funny that you posted your TMI question. I am due for my period in 3 days, so I'm anxiously awaiting a pos test (so far all neg). I have nauseau at 6 p.m. every night, extreme fatigue, phantom pains, abdominal pains (like stretching), and just yesterday, I discovered my body is making lots of colostrum. I, too, breastfed until this summer. I finished with Ben in August, and up until a couple of weeks ago, I could only express a drop or so, and it was only milk - real watery. Now yesterday, I was noticing how extremely engorged and painful my breasts were feeling, so I attempted to express. I got a LOT of colostrum - thick, oily, yellow colostrum. Sooo...I am in the SAME boat as you. Call me optimistic, but I think you and I are pregnant girl!

Do you have a gut feeling? Granted this would only be my second pregnancy, but I have a gut feeling that I am. In fact, it's like any other time I have wanted to be pregnant, I have almost tried to convince myself that I was pg, but now I'm almost trying to convince myself I'm not out of fear. This may be TMI also, but have you checked your cervical position? It's a little tough if you don't know how it feels in a normal state, but for me, I'm noticing that it's a bit longer and thicker. Gassiness? OMG - my husband was teasing me already about it - he says he "can't wait" for that to begin. It was real bad with Ben.
Do you have the two little ones? For me, I only have my little man. It's hard looking at him and picturing another one around. I feel like I'm cheating him out of something. But I know I'm not. Oh well...I'm sure it's mommy #2 syndrome. Keep me posted about your progress. It's so exciting, so scary, and completely thrilling!

Dear cljsjuliet,
Thanks for your reply. I have been leaking since he stopped nursing. My mom was even one who had leaked up to a year post-nursing. However, I had been leaking milk: a really watery, white substance - the same he had been demanding at a year old. My question is this: within the last week, the leaking suddenly picked up in volume (noticeably) upon hand expression, and changed dramatically to a very yellowy, very oily yellow substance (definitely colostrum). It's the same stuff I was pumping when he was first born, before my milk came in. So, my question is this: can the milk do that? Take a turn and become colostrum, while increasing in volume? My problem is this: I can't get an HPT to come back pos, but I'm wondering if I'm pregnant. According to a midwife I talked to, it's possible. She says colostrum is a response to hormones. So, has anyone else ever had this happen, then ended up pregnant?

Kristy,
That is sooooo funny about the tests - my husband is always teasing me, because I'm an addict with them when I think I'm pregnant - I just think that maybe one more test, and it will be positive. Just one more... LOL
If it helps you feel any better, I ovulated on Nov 22 (I had really sharp cervical pains and thickened mucous), and I still can't get a pos. With Ben, I had a pos by 14 dpo, so when they fell this last week, I was sooo upset. My husband has been fond of saying, "If I had a dollar for every time you asked if you were pregnant..." I'm not due for my period until tomorrow a.m., but I kind of conned my doc's nurse into taking blood yesterday. We were already there for my husband, so what does it hurt, right? LOL
Unfortunately, that won't come in until Tuesday. But then this will be over. I swear I must be. I'm like you. Nauseau so heavy; mostly in the evenings and at night. And I've had to pee so much more. Then my breasts were so tender earlier this week, and the scanty milk leakage has become abundant colostrum. I'm not feeling as engorged, but still. Are you having bad headaches? I am having quite a few.
Well, I must go. I have to be leaving for work in 12 minutes, and I haven't showered yet. If you want, jot down my e-mail. I'd love to keep in touch.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm so happy for you. That's so wonderful! Don't worry too much about the details; it's all those hormones. By the time the baby comes, life will be ready for him/her. What do you wish for: boy or girl? How's your boyfriend taking it?
No news for me yet; but no period, either. The bloodwork comes in on Tuesday from the docs. I must be; I've been soooooo emotional. My husband and I just had a spat that turned into a heated fight and I ended up crying. All over something soooo stupid. Men can be such jerks; especially when they know you're already emotional. Grrrr.... I hope things are going better in your love life than they are for me...
Take care, Kristy! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!
