The first time I had sex was 8 months ago. Until recently. I had sex again on 08/13/06, but only once. We used protection, and I'm also on the pill. However, I have PCOS, which is why I was on the pill in the first place. But, since I'm not usually sexually active, I sometimes forget to take a pill. I was just wondering how long it takes to be able to know whether or not you've become pregnant. If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks.

are you having any symptoms? ideally your missed period would be the most accurate in saying that is when you will know.

but that truly depends on how well you know your body, if have been pregnant before and recognize the changes that occur.

Well, I don't know if it's just stress from school, I'm a freshman in college, and work, or if it's all in my head, but I started to feel very naseous today. Almost like I have the flu. But I'm not suppose to start my period for another couple of days. So, I don't know. I've never been pregnant before. But, thanks for the advice. I'm just confused, and I guess all I can really do is wait. But, if there's anything you can think of that could help, that would be wonderful. Again, thanks.

You said your period is due in a couple of days, two or three? If so, I would go to the dollar store get a couple of test, their so cheap but very good in low hcg detection and take them in the morning with your first pee. If you get a faint line right away, you know, if you get nothing atleast you can rest your mind till AF is due. If she ain't here test again.

Good luck

Well, congratulations! I appreciate everything. I feel the same way about the books, mine are going to cost around the same. Well, whatever happens I'm hoping everything works out well either way, I'm going to school to get my RN. I was planning on doing something like labor & delievery nursing or pediatrics, ironically enough. Good luck with everything.
