Hi. Ok, I've had either a UTI or bladder infection. I dont know the difference, all I know was I was peeing a whole lot and burning towards the end of my pee. I did take AZO which stopped the burning, then went to the doctor. She gave me med., but have to wait to see which one it is. Okay, this infection has been lasting for about 2 weeks. I actually was peeing so much that I was acting like a preg. woman, although i never been preg, i heard they pee alot. And I really, really was; one day i woke up at 8 am and had to be somewhere for 11am and had peed 3 times before i left. Not to mention i didnt drink anything. Anyways, my period is now 5 days late, which is not normal for me. But im really not that curios b/c i have on/off slight cramping and lower back pain. Oh, and the other night, i had MAJOR lower back pain when i was trying to sleep. And i did have sex 4-2 days before my ovulation and on my ovulation day. So my question is, do you think that the infection is stopping my period from coming on or i may be pregnant? Im assuming they did a pregnancy test for me at my doctor but im not sure cause she didnt ask me when the last date of my period was or anything. And i heard you can get infections when ur pregnant. Ok, let me go, i gotta pee. Thanks.
P.S. I do want a baby!

Hi, well I had missed my period and hpt that came out postive and at the same time I had a uti. Now, I believe having a UTI can affect your period, it never did me, but that has happened to my friend. Anyway, I would say that your best bet is to buy a hpt and take it with your first mornings urine just to be sure. If it comes out negative it could just be the infection. But if it's positive you will want to let your doc know right away because you can only take certain meds when your are pregnant and I am not sure if that is applicable to antibiotics or not.
Good luck....
