vasectomy, but pregnant?

Hi-I am just curious if anyone has ever been pregnant after their husband had a vasectomy, and after he went back to the doctor to have things checked out? My husband had a vasectomy back in Jan., after our third baby was born. He went back a month later, and everything was fine. I am worried because I am two weeks late and not sure why. I rarely have a regular cycle, but it usually only varies by 1 week. I have started to work out more, and been somewhat stressed, so maybe this has something to do with it.

Is it possible to get pregnant after a vasectomy and after my husband has been checked?
Thanks.

Hi,

I would think that the likelyhood of that happening is probably pretty slim, but not to say it could never happen. I think I read somewhere that it can happen. But it sounds like you're probably late from the 2 things you mentioned, being stressed and working out. Those 2 things can definitely have an effect on your cycle. Have you tried taking a test yet? If not, if you're 2 weeks late, I would say it should be accurate. Are you having any other symptoms besides no period?

Thanks for the advice. No, I really don't have any other symptoms, but I didn't have any with my third child (boy) either. I tested when I was two weeks late (third pregnancy)and I fully expected to not be pregnant since I didn't have any symptoms. I agree that the chances are extremely slim of me being pregnant. I would rather not be pregnant. That's only because we already have three beautiful children. But, if I was pregnant, I would be happy since I would see my baby as a gift from God.

I am going to be buying a test today and take it in the morning. I will post the results tomorrow.

Thanks.

Thanks for all your posts. I feel crampy now, so maybe AF is on her way, but been feeling like that off and on for a few days now. I will know for sure in the morning. Wow, didn't realize that it was possible to get PG after vasectomy and tubes tied.

Wow, how wonderful that they took in four more children. I think I am going to wait until Mon. morning to test. I will give it a couple more days. Thanks.

Don,t know if this will help you, but I know somebody who had a vasectomy 18 years ago, and he had just had his 3rd boy. His oldest is 18. He did get checked 18 years ago ( no spermies) and he just got checked and their surpise their were spermies. good luck.

I couldn't wait till Monday to take the test, so I took it this morning. I got a BFN. So, I am not pregnant. I think my cycle is off because of stress and a new workout routine. I love having babies and I am so happy for you ladies who are trying to have a baby right now. I, however, just had my third baby and we are done having children. So,these results bring me peace and make me happy. I am ready to raise my three children now and enjoy them.

Thank you for all your responses. I do get somewhat worried when I read that a man who had a vasectomy 18 years ago, w/no spermies, just had a baby! But, hopefully, that will not happen to me. :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
