I feel a bit silly writing this but you all seem so kind and helpful...

My husband and I have been trying for 8 months now and no luck - but it's hard when your period is wacky. My cycles this year have been 75 days, 83 days, 41 days, 30 days, 39 days, and now ??? days. It would have been 31 days on the 3rd. We're at 38 days. (maybe they are getting more regular though... lol)

It hasn't come yet and I have been feeling kind of odd for the past week. Not really hungry, a bit moody. Could be my period but I really hope not. Took a test on Saturday and it was neg. How long should I wait before I take the next test? I don't usually feel like this before a period.

Anyone with similar cycles? (As IF!)

Best to all,

Jennifer.

I know exactly where you're coming from!!! I am quite irregular myself!! When I was pregnant with my second child, I actually had to take Provera to induce my period -- which I don't think ever made me ovulate! It took my dh and I 10 months to conceive and I had my lmp the end of August, 1997 and took a test on October 9th and it was negative so I started the Provera again and when I didn't get my period I thought maybe I could possibly be pregnant and I took another test on October 24th and it was positive. So, unfortunately for you, you may have to wait a few weeks -- and trust me I know how that can kill a person. You're other option is to wait and take a blood test at your doctors office - but I would wait 2 weeks from when you think you may have conceived. I'm kind of in a similiar situation right now - my lmp was 9/16, I'm having signs of pregnancy but all my urine tests (one today as well) have come out negative!! I just wish I could be on a regular cycle and not have this added stress of waiting extra long to find out if you're pregnant or not!! Best of luck - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hi JAG,

Thanks for your kind words. I took another test on Tuesday morning and was neg. Yesterday I started spotting a bit (dark brown... maybe implantation bleeding??) but it might just be my period coming. Don't have any other symptoms except I burst into tears at a really dumb thing this morning (again, could be period - lol).

I wonder how long after implantation a blood test would work? If the spotting doesn't get heavier by tomorrow I will go see the doctor I guess. I hope I am I hope I am...

Good luck to you! Us irregular girls should get discounts on tests, don't you think??? They are soooo expensive!

Hello,

I do understand what you are going through. I go through this every single month now that I am off the pill. My cycles have been between 30-36 days for the most part since March, but my last cycle was 60 days. Started Aug 9th, lasted about 2 days and then was gone and didn't show up again until Oct 7th, which was a normal period lasting about 3-4 days. But now I'm waiting again and today is day 37. Who knows when it will come. I took a HPT Monday and it was clearly negative, so I don't know what to think. It could be stress, but I'm actually less stressed these last two months than I have been since March. I had a pap smear in Sept and everything checked out normal, although I wasn't having abnormally long periods at the time. If had some slight cramping, something I thought maybe implantation bleeding, but was so light, could've been anything. I've had the gas, headaches, abnormal sleeping habits, moodiness, etc. I'm actually having hearburn right now, which I normally never have. This could all be PMS but still haven't gotten AF yet. Keep me posted on your situation and I will do the same. :) Thanks for listening. (reading) :)

Good luck to you!

I got an unwelcome visitor yesterday so I'm a little bummed. Maybe next month...

Hi there. I'm new here but had to respond to the "irregular period girl" thread. I'm in the same boat. My cycles are all over the place, as in, 36, 38, 64, 43, 36, 31, 36, 37, and now I'm on day 48 (not that I'm keeping track, hehe). I'm also having "symptoms" which could be of PG or AF (wow, look at that, I'm even using the lingo!). I've been feeling like AF is coming for a couple of weeks, but instead I've just had a lot of CF. Normally I'm dry before AF. Besides that, general crampy feeling, tired, tender and larger boobs, etc. I'm assuming it's all false and AF is just late again as usual, but I guess I'll test just for the heck of it. PG wasn't planned, but it wouldn't be a bad thing at all. Thanks for reading.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

If you are serious about getting pg, please go see a reproductive endocrinologist to test you. Your cycles indicate that something is out of whack and you need to be checked. You may not be ovulating at all.

that is my one piece of advice today!

I have been down this road! Good luck
