Well I don't know how many of you remember my story...I had periods lasting only a day for the last 4 almost 5 months, and had every symptom in the book for pregnancy except positive tests, including some weight gain, and a belly that began to look pregnant, and times I swear I feel movements...

I finally made it to Planned Parenthood, no insurance :( Well though I don't believe I got a real good answer she said suspects PCOS...but didn't say much more about it. I do plan to get insurance soon, so I can be looked at in a better way to see if this is really it or not. I don't see how she could come up with that with just this one exam. She acted strangly when she was feeling my abdomen, and kept going up higher until past midway to my belly button. She didn't say anything but it was like she couldn't find my uterus or something, I never had someone go that high up on an exam before.

My problem is the pain I have been having, its an off and on thing, but becoming more and more frequent. I feel like AF is on the way, with them kind of cramps (for me there different than the ones I get with AF) and having low back pain that goes into my hip and thigh. Sometimes the crampy feel seems to one side more than the other, but switches and does both at the same time. I had everything checked today, no infections, PAP is normal, urine is normal. But this pain keeps getting worse, I think I may end up at the ER one of these days, almost did tonight in fact. But after 1200mg of Motrin it let up enough to bear. I just don't know what this pain could be from. Any ideas out there?

Anything will be appretiated. I just don't know what to think anymore...sometimes I swear I'm pregnant even after the exam, it seems she would have felt it if I was...

Hi Emily,

Sorry you havent been getting responses. I have a question about your cycles. Do you know for sure that you have been ovulating? And also how far apart are your periods?

Well...my cycles are normally about 30-32 days. In the last week of May (not sure when) was my last normal period, very heavy and painful with lots of clots. Then about 2 weeks later I got another, about 3 days, day one medium, day 2 light and spotty, then day 3 just spotting. Then again 3 weeks later I got another lasted 1 day of bleeing and another half day of spotting. The next was at the right time, but only few hours of flow, then spotted that day and was done. The next was also on time, and again the same couple hours and spotting then done. I have never had an abnormal cycle ever, except with my 2 pregnancies...so thats why its so strange. Also i'm only 21...and a lot of issues usually develop when your older right? My next is due around the 14...see what comes of it.

Emily,

Did the Dr. do an LH test to see if you are ovulating? What did they say about your periods only being one day at a time? How long have you been TTC?

Well i'm not actively trying to concieve...at the moment I have no insurance, and thats part of why. But I now realize I would like to. But anyways...since I don't have insurance I just went to planned parenthood and a Nurse Praticioner (sp?) did the exam. She didn't really say anything to me, so I asked what is going on, and she said she suspected PCOS...and then went on the discuss birth control and push me out the door as Planned Parenthood does. So until I see a real doctor I don't, and won't, know anything. I got enough money to go to my family doctor...I figure he can at least help me figure out what this pain is, and what to do about it. Its just frustrating, I lost my insurance in May...and thats when all this started on me. Thanks for trying to sort through all this, I know its pretty much impossible, but I keep hopeing to find something sometime that will add up to it all. If it weren't for the pain I have been in I would just go on with life and see what comes of it all, but I can't because of it.

Emily,

What is PCOS? It sucks not having ins. I didn't have any for 2 years until my Husband entered the military. Thats part of the reason we waited to try. If I would have known it was going to take this long I would have started trying sooner. I have been to Planned Parenthood and they are not the most "understanding" people like a family Dr. They just want to get you in and out and on with the next person. I hope you can get to a better Dr. soon.
