What are the chances?

I have been on BCP(Alesse) for about 5 years, and my periods have always been like clockwork, even if I did miss a pill or two. I am overweight and I know that your chances of getting PG increase if you are overweight and taking the pill. Three months ago, I missed about a week of pills, although they were not consecutive. That month I got my AF a week early, so I started the next pack of pills a week earlier than usual. The week that I would normally have my period, I was spotting. This was the first time that I have ever spotted. Then my next two periods came on time, but they only lasted for a couple hours each time. This has also never happened, as my AF generally lasts from 3-5 days. I am expecting my next period next Friday (10/31), but for the past month I have experienced cramping, gas, frequent urination, and tender breasts. These are not normal AF signs for me. I have taken a HPT, and it was negative. I also have not missed a pill in the last two months. I am so confused because I feel PG, but it could be all in my head. Or it could be PMS or just hormones from the BCP. What do you think?

I think you definitely give your doctor a call. I've read before that if you're a few months along, your body may not be producing enough hCG for the hpt's to pick up. It would be a good idea to make an apointment and have a pelvic exam, or at least ask your doctor's office for advice.

I would suggest waiting until AF is overdue before testing. At the same time if you think you may be pregnant I wouldn't be taking BCP still. I would test again next Saturday or Sunday and see what the results are if AF doesn't show up. Otherwise she'll come and you should get back on track again.
