What do you think?

I've been on the pill for years, but last month I misplaced my pills after I picked them up from the pharmacy. I didn't go back and get a new pack thinking I'd find them in a day or two and would just double up. Well, it took me almost 2 weeks before I found them again (they were in the glove box of my car) So, ultimately, I went off the pill that month and used condoms. This month I'm back to taking my pills, but I think I have to use condoms for the first month until the pills kick back in. Today is day 10 of my new pack. On top of that, I have been taking antibiotics for 7 of those 10 days. Well, yesterday, my husband and I had sex without a condom. I had been out of town for 5 days and we were obviously too excited about seeing each other again. My husband whispered something along the lines of let's hope we're safe, but if not, no big deal, we were wanting to start a family sooner or later anyway (next summer actually). Then late this morning when I went to the washroom, I noticed some light spotting. A friend once told me she noticed spotting both times she conceived. She thought it was the result of the sperm and egg implanting into the uterus. But less than 12 hours after sex sounds awfully quick. I have had spotting from sex before, but I won't get into that, that would be too much information.
I did research and taking antibiotics with the pill only increases your chances of getting pregnant by 2%. I don't know what the chances are of getting pregnant the first month of starting pills. So, what do you think? I'm so anxious. I can hardly wait 11 more days til I finish these pills. I'm kinda hoping I am. I've already determined what the due date would be and I took follic acid today just in case I am.

I don't know if I can give much insight, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I am in a similar situation. At the end of August when I was supposed to start my new pack of pills..I forgot to get them, went on vacation for our 1st anniversary, and when I got back, I just started them the following week w/o doubling up. After that I started having symptoms and really thought I was pg, so again, I stopped taking them because I thought I was, turns out I wasn't (the symptoms must have been a reaction from stopping & starting the pills). Then like normal, I started my new pack of pills at the end of sept. (28th), took them all on time, but now I'm wondering if since I stopped for over a week prior to that, were they not effective at the beginning because my AF in Oct was very light & brown. I started having major symptoms last week, so now I'm thinking that my last AF (in Oct.) was really implantation bleeding! I'm not sure exactly if it's even possible that I am because I went back on my pills, but the question is were they even effective at that point??! I don't know, these bc pills are messing me all up. Hope I didn't confuse you too much, I just wanted to let you know that I feel your pain. It gets very confusing when stopping & starting again!

I just read that implantation spotting usually occurs about a week or so after the sperm meets the egg. I knew 12 hours was too quick. I guess I can lay less emphasis on this as a sign of being pregnant. I hope I didn't conceive a week ago, because I had an x-ray a week ago, which can't be good.
