This may sound ignorant, but I assumed that I was to be taking my temperature orally, which I have been doing? Is this wrong? Am I supposed to be taking it...elsewhere? Nobody really says where exactly, so I just want to be sure. And what is considered high? I've been at 98.6 for about 4-5 days, which I guess is high for me, cause I'm normally in the 97s.

You're supposed to take it by you're mouth, and since you temps are usally in the 97 then yes i would say 98 is high for you, so pplm go to the 99's you're not far off so you're doing it right.

Like the pp said, take your temp in your mouth. It sounds like the 98 temps are high for you... are you putting your temps in a chart format? This makes it really easy to see what's high for you and what's low (since it's different for every woman). Visit www.fertilityfriend.com and you can enroll in a free membership; free charting comes with it. FF even plots your "coverline" for you, which sort of splits your pre-O "lows" from your post-O "highs."

Good luck to you!

I always take my temp orally , most woman do! You just need to make sure you are using a Basal body themometer and are temping the same time everyday and before you get out of bed. It sounds like to me you are in the luteral phase of your cycle ! After Ovulation your temp will rise to a second level and stay up untill af starts ( usually 10 -16 days after O)or if you are pregnant it will stay up through pregnancy!
