I stopped taking birth control pills about 2 months ago. Last month I started my period 4 days early. This month I was 3 days late and took a test (on Wednesday) which came up negative. I then started my period later that afternoon which only lasted 1 day. Recently I have gained some weight in my tummy. My belly looks like I'm preggo and it feels like it. I have been having really bad heartburn lately, gas, fatigue, dizzyness, and my breasts are really sore. I also have been having really bad back pain lately. I don't know what to do because I feel like I'm pregnant but the test came back negative. When I was pregnant with my now 6 year old daughter I took several home pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. I ended up going to the doctor when I was a little over 2 months pregnant (a couple of days after I tried the last pregnancy test) and they did a urine test and it came up positive. I don't get it. Should I take another test even though I kinda had a period? I feel like it will come up negative too. Should I just go to the doctor? Or am I just a little crazy because I really want to be pregnant and my brain is making me feel like I am? Please help!!!

Coming off BCPs can cause a lot of different things to happen to your body as it readjusts to getting your hormone levels in balance on it's own. If you are concerned about being pregnant, definitely test again or go to the doctor if you don't feel like the HPTs are right. The urine tests that the doctor's use are the same as HPTs, so they shouldn't really be much different. A blood test is the best way to know for sure what's going on.

There's also a chance that the bleeding you had was implantation bleeding. It that's the case, you wouldn't come up with a positive on a HPT for at least a few more days, so you might want to wait about a week and then retest. Good luck!
