Do you think your child's stuffed animals need names?

I named some of my daughter's dolls and animals, but sadly I no longer do as she's old enough to do so herself. Her current favorite is Saffi or Sophie (not sure where she got this from, or which she means--if I ask is it Saffi or is it Sophie she says yes to either) or Benny (from Dora). Previous favorites were Paul and Isabella. She got a plastic camel from the zoo this weekend whom she named Naomi (her cousin's name). Recently she was pretending to have babies and they were Nika, Vika, Saffa, Becca, her when she was a baby, her brother when he was a baby, Mommy when she was a baby, her aunt, uncle, & 3 cousins when they were babies, Grandma & Grandpa when they were babies, Saffi, Dora, Boots, Benny, Swiper, Julia, & Spencer (Julia and Spencer are friends).

It warms my mommy heart to see her developing an interest in names--and having 21 babies.

Our cars are named pretty boring, after the licence plats.
My car is Pixed and DH's is Vixy.
My first car was Jibble.

Other then that, we name stuffed animals. Most of DD's stuffed animals were mine as children but I can't remember most of the names. Her favorite dog is Rufus (DH named him, I don't remember what I had named him!) and her cat is Cupcake (I named it because it came with the book "If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.") With DD's dolls she's only 4 so not very good at coming up with her own names so I'll name off some names until she likes one. So we have baby's Hannah, Zoe and Megan.

She also named her purple stuffed tiger "Pink" which I thought was pretty cute.
She also named my iPod - Kitty! lol
And most recently, she wants to name everything Muhindi (which she learned from the pre-school show "Caillou.") And last night she wanted to name her unborn baby sister "Truck."

I'm VERY picky about my children's names, but apparently I don't really care so much about other names.... since I let DH and DD name them all! LOL

A cat named cupcake! That is too stinking cute. :)

My first vehicle was a Jeep and it was named "Deathtrap" due to the vehicle itself and my driving abilities, lol. Then I had a little blue car named jellybean because it looked like one. Sadly jellybean got totaled and I haven't named the replacement vehicle.

Growing up my mom liked to name things "Fred" - it's a running joke in my family, everything is Fred, or Fred Fred. :)

Not really, our cars don't have names, nothing really does. Each of the boys have a cabbage patch boy, Hs is Rueben, Gs is Sebastian (those are the names they came with). H has bears: Baby bear, Beary Bear, and Brownie Bear. G has stuffed cats: Cat and baby cat. Man, for someone who loves names, I'm pretty pathetic!
We have no pets, H has been wanting a cat since he was 2. He wants a solid gray one named Peach. So of we ever do get one, I won't get to name it.
I guess I better start getting E some dolls and use up some names I've never used. I think I'll get her a set of boy/girl twins, Eve and Lewis. :)

LOL @ iv_aingael! I literally laughed out loud when I read "Deathtrap"!!!! I love it!!!

And that's funny about Fred! My sister in law is named Jennifer, but her nickname in the family is Fred. The reasoning is that my FIL could never keep track of who he was trying to talk to/yell at so it went "Eric! Kyle! Fred!" and Jen being the youngest has inherited the name!
Also, DH's cousin is named Alex but he's called Chuck. I'm told that the story behind that one is that DH's uncle walked into the hospital room to meet the baby (not Alex's dad), took one look and said "He looks like a Chuck."
It's stuck ever since!
