This board helped me name #1, my daughter with the beautiful name, Adelaide Emmalou.

I have names picked out for our second baby, praying this one sticks!

A little backgroud. LONG before pregnancy while we were suffering with infertility I mentioned a name to my sil that I loved. Alyse... I had NO idea that she would rip that name out from under me. We heard what the baby's name would be and I LOST it in the car on the ride home.

Audrey Elise... WHAT? The nerve!

Well, I found a name I loved more, so I'm cool with it being my neice's name, but it is like a knife in my back everytime they call her her full name!

This brings me to the Delimma. The entire family already says that

I really Enjoy Everett Michael and Ellery Snow I dont think that it would matter if they sounded close to the other name you had stolen from you.

That is EXACTLY what my hubby said (it's his brother's wife)... he said you shouldnt feel bad if its anything similar to they name she stole for THAT reason alone... but he doesnt feel its to horribly similar... just bc names have the same letters in them... that doesnt make them the same name does it? lol

Adelaide Emmalou is a flowing, feminine, old school and sophisticated name all in one go. Good job :)

I really like your boy choice - logical with family meaning, Everett is same style as Adelaide and it's a great match.

Alyse is really sweet but less related in style IMO with Adelaide than Ellery is - does that make sense?

Ellery is slightly deviating from the style, but only so

lol, yes, I realize me style is much different now than it was when I liked Alyse... I like the style of names I fancy now much much more! :)

Thank you for your reviews on my names, they are very helpful...

You think that Ellery Snow flows enough with Adelaide that they could be sisters? You don't think I went too far off the trail here? I feel like Adelaide is very oldfashioned, as is Ellery, but originally Ellery was a Boy's name... I am not into the using boys names for girls so much, but Ellery is much to feminine for a boy these days. I think it is just different enough from Adelaide to give each gal their own identity, but not so far off that they don't seem to fit in a family... I hope :)

You know, if this baby is a girl... LOL hahaha

Everett is so classic and was a no brainer for our family... :) thanks so much everyone!

I really don't think the names are that similar. I wouldn't worry about it one bit!
