Well first I have to say you have great taste in names. My DD's are Eleanor(13 yrs NN Ella), Lucy(5 yrs NN Lulu)& Penelope(21 months NN Penny) so obviously I think Penelope & Eleanor work just fine as sisters :)

My only regret with Eleanor is that Ella as a stand alone name got so popular right after we had her. Eleanor was actually more popular the year she was born at 465 while Ella was at 500. Then Ella started it's rise breaking the top 100 in 2002 & was at 14(!) last year. If I knew what Ella was going to do I think I would have gone with Nora instead-but even that is now running up the chart to 197. But we only use NN within the family anyway so it's not a huge deal.

What other names are you thinking of?

Congrats on the twins! I do not think they are too close. If you want a higher volume "Yes" or "No" response, you could run a poll. I hope you are feeling well, these days. Keep us updated on the name quest, if you like. Twin names are particularly interesting.

I think they are fine together for siblings.
