Classic Names

Not pregnant, but soon to be back on the TTC bandwagon. I love names and all, but DH thinks it's bizarre so I have to 'hide' my obsession. We have a 20 month old William Charles. His name comes from both DH and my maternal grandfathers. We loved it from finding out baby was a boy and there was no discussion of anything else. Unfortunately, this time likely won't be that way. I love the regal, classic and masculine feel that William Charles gives and want names to match. No nicknames needed as we will use the formal name.

Here is the short list- please add to it!!

I LOVE Katherine but can't use it (DD#1 has middle name Kathleen - and my sister is Kathryn but we call her Katie)
I wouldn't think too "matchy" or whatever from the royal couple. :)

Charlotte is nice, but not one that I could use as it is rising in popularity right now.

Caroline is a great name (haha) Growing up I've always had to correct people (CaroLINE not CaroLYN) but I wouldn't trade it for anything!4

Beatrice is too out there for me.

I love Elizabeth, a bummer it holds such a negative association for your dad :(

What about:
Samantha
Victoria
Veronica
Rosalie

Boys:
Henry is not really my style, but it's a nice enough name.
James I love
Phillip is just ok.

Others to consider:
Michael
Matthew
Simon
Charles

(I don't have much of a boy list as I'm expecting my 2nd girl right now and really haven't looked at boy names! LOL)
- Caroline

* Wife of Eric (July 28, 2007)

* Proud Mommy of Allison Kathleen (April 14, 2007)

* Expecting another BABY GIRL on September 16, 2011

I would skip Katherine for royal wedding reasons, even though it's spelled different and it's a great name in general. I think having a William and Katherine is too much. I'm in the same bind -- my son is Charles, and now I won't use the name Diana if I have a daughter even though I love it.

Charlotte I would also skip, since you used Charles for your son's middle name. The names have the same root.

I think Beatrice is lovely! Why wouldn't you use it?

Other possibilities: Bridget. Margaret, Anne, Josephine, Clara

I think your boy choices are all fantastic. James is probably my favorite. With Phillip, I'd be concerned about brothers nicknamed Will and Phil.
