Too linked to the film now?
I love everything about this name.
I haven't even seen the movie, yet that's the first and only thing that comes to mind when I head the name.
I have to admit that the first thing that popped into my mind was the movie as well.
That being said...I am a HUGE fan of Neil Gaiman (and also a huge They Might Be Giants fan and they wrote the song played about Coraline) so to me I would have no hesitation in using this name even if it was always associated with the movie.
I also think that the movie, while popular wasn't one that will stick around in peoples minds for very long or take off the way we have seen names from Twilight and other films go.
It is a pretty name, but it was the first thing I thought of when I read the name.
If the film had been "bigger," I'd worry about it, but as it is...no, I don't think so.
Actually because I'm a really big Neil Gaiman fan I'll forever link it to the book not the movie.
If you hadn't mentioned the movie I wouldn't have even thought about it.
I agree that the movie is the first thing that comes to mind, but is that a bad thing?
