This COULD be it!

DH is the kind of guy who doesn't like to discuss names like... EVER. Because NOTHING is good enough for HIS kid.

Well, I THINK I may have a name that I can get him to agree on once she's born (because no way will he commit until the papers to sign are in hand! LOL)

Elena Viola (pronounced Vee-oh-lah, the Italian way, for my grandmother.)
Other middle name option is Victoria, which is one of my grandmas middle names (Viola Carmel Victoria) but I love Viola - it's much less common and so spunky and I love the flow with Elena.
Other first name options are Victoria or Veronica if DH shoots down Elena when she's born. Though, Veronica Viola or Victoria Viola might be a bit too much of the V but I don't think they sound BAD together.

Last name sounds like And-ress.

She'll be joining big sister Allison Kathleen (Allie or Allie Kat.)

If we go with Elena, obviously the nn Ellie is out because we sometimes call Allison Allie!
But possibly we'd go with Elle or Lane or Lanie or Lena. Or we'll just call her Elena.
Why not? Not every name NEEDS a nickname. I'm Caroline and have never been Carrie or Carol.
My sis in law is Jennifer and very rarely is called Jen, never Jenny.

I think this might be it. It feels like it could be the right name. So excited to maybe have this settled!
(Ha! Watch, she's born and DH hates the name and I'm back to the list!!!)

53 (or so) days and I'll report back!

I agree a nickname is unnecessary too.

Victoria is great too; Veronica is okay but I think Victoria sounds better. I actually really like Carmel too. Gave that name to one of my daughter's dolls.

I think Elena is a very nice name. I also like Veronica and Victoria a lot (the alliterative "V" doesn't bother me). Keep us posted!

I answered on the other board, but I'll say it again, I really like it! :) Can't wait to hear your DH's opinion though! ;)

LOVE Elle and Lane is really cool (especially when she's a teen/twenty-something). But I agree, you don't need a nickname! I've gone 29 years without one myself! :)

I'll be sure to post again in about 7 1/2 weeks or so when baby gets here and my hubby is FORCED to agree on something!!! LOL

I don't think the multiple V's bug me either. I think of those names - Veronica or Victoria - hubby likes Victoria. He says it sounds "classier" - with that name the only nn I like is "V" whereas Veronica gives me "V" and "Nic."

I think Elena is it though. I've been calling her Elena when I talk to my belly *hehe*

Very nice, Elena is so pretty, and you can't go wrong with any of the Vs.
