I lean towards Gry, though I'm not sure it'll be easy to get the pronunciation you want.

I'm so glad you got it solved. Better late than never! As you can see on the other thread, m y friend is going through the same thing.

As for your girl names, of the two I prefer Grye, but I'm afraid it might get butchered to Gray or Guyer. But hey, once you tell people what her name is they should be good people and learn it!

Jenna - It looks like we have the EXACT same due date for our little girls....February 17th. Plus I don't know what "mommin'in Chicgo" is....I'll have to look but I, too, live in a suburb of Chicago! Any chance you'll be at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield...I'll have to say "hello"!

Thanks, Kae. As I recall you are one of the board name experts....do you know the true Scandinavian pronunciation of Gry? All I can find are references saying it is almost impossible unless one speaks the language. Is it one syllable or two? We love that it is a heavily used Norwegian name (like Berit) and it starts with a G - like husband Gunther....not sure how to say it so I went with my "brie ryhme" and added an e thinking it might help.

I only found this out by messing around with Google Translator, but it sounds like your pronunciation is right.
