To me, it sounds too feminine to be a boy's name but too masculine for a girl... like it's trapped in the middle and doesn't fit either.

To me, it sounds a bit contrived to be masculine. Toss in the Indian feminine figure Kumari, and I'd pass on this one for a boy.
