Congrats on two healthy girls! Twin naming can be a challenge. I understand why he likes Bella. I really think it would be fine to use the name (as a full or nn). One possible option would be to use the Scottish Isobel nn Bella. It's a legit name, and would give her a bit of distance from Isabella. I think Pearl and Isobel are great together. I will give you some suggestions, as well:

Audra

Ave-(ah-vay)

Cara- (car-ah)

Carys

Cecily

Corinne (cor-IN)

Delia

Della

Delta

Elsa

Eva

Gemma

Giselle

Hallie

Isla

Jetta

Juniper

Kellis

Kira

Laurel

Lena

Maris

Mattea

Milla

Mina

Mira

Miri

Reva (This would be very nice)

Sibyl

Stella

Tavia

Thais (tie-EES)

Thea

Vera

Verity

Willa

My brand new Niece was just named Callista (nn Callie) which means beautiful as well.

Here are some other names that mean beautiful:

Anika (very beautiful)

Alina (bright, beautiful)

Shana

Callia (I LOVE this, nn again Callie)

Good luck, twins are amazing!

How fun to have twin girls!

How do you feel about just Belle? That means beautiful too, & the simplicity & old fashioned feel of it seems far less trendy & less nick-namey then Bella. I love Pearl & Belle together too.

Arabella/Arabelle, I think, is a beautiful alternative. It gives you the chance to use the NN Belle but Arabella/Arabelle isn't nearly as common as the other "Belle" names.

Other names with similar meanings include:

Belinda (could still use "Belle" as a NN)
Ellen
