Hello all,

My husband and I thought we had found the perfect name for our baby if it is a boy: Sawyer. But I did a little research and it seems that it may be more popular as a girl name? is this so? What do you think, is this a boy name or a girl name? It seems too masculine to me to be a girl's name but it is fairly common these days to use boys names on girls... please help! I'll be so sad if this is now a girl's name.

According to Social Security, there were 2,198 boys born last year named Sawyer and 348 girls.

If you go to the Social Security site, they do the top 1000 names for each year.

I would never ever name my baby girl Sawyer - it is so masculine for me! Definitely a boys name!

Sawyer is all boy, IMO.
