I absolutely love the name Alaina for a girl, but I'm not having the same success for a boy. I want something similar in style and popularity to Alaina, but I can't seem to find anything I like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I really love the name Grace for a girl as well...my problem is that I can't decide if it's too tradtional. Do you prefer Alaina or Grace?

It's okay if you just want to answer one part of this question...I'd rather get some response than none! TIA.

I love Grace, but it's too popular right now for me to be comfortable using it (our last name is quite common, so I'd like to avoid my children meeting people with the same first and last names). I don't think Grace is "too" traditional, but I personally like many traditional names. If it were a little less popular, it would be on my list, no question.

Not sure about Alaina. How are you pronouncing it? Uh-lane-uh? Uh-lann-uh? Something else? The spelling seems 'off' to me, but I can't quite put my finger on why. I'd probably go with Eleana or Alannah, depending on how you want to say it.

As for a boy's name, what about Alan? It's the closest I can think of to Alaina. Or do you want something different because you'd still like to use Alaina if you have a girl in the future?

I'm pronouncing Alaina as uh-lane-uh. I definitely prefer that spelling but I know it's also spelled as Elena, Elaina, and Alayna. For boys I'm looking for a names that could be used for a brother

I think Alaina is a very pretty name and this is probably my preferred spelling. I know Grace is popular - especially in the middle name spot- BUT if you love that also have you considered Alaina Grace?

I too love the nickname Lainey! So darling!

Ok for boys...
