I would shy away from Phineas only because I know a lot of Finns. If you are going for something more rare....I would not use a name with the nickname Finn.
I agree with the other posters Theon is a new one to me and I'll have to sit on it for awhile to see if I like it. However,
Sarah, I love your naming style! How are you pronouncing Theon? Is it thay-in, thay-awn, tay-awn? Thee-awn? Just curious. I don't know if I'm just a little slower than most people or you'll be dealing with a whole load of different pronounciations with that one.
Jennifer it is Thee-on/Thee-awn, sort of like Neon, but with a th. Seriously one of the first things I commented after DH and I decided we liked it a lot, was "is it an element?" So we had to go look up the periodical table of elements, just in case, it isn't FYI, but it kind of has that vibe going for me as well, which I don't mind either.
I know everyone's naming circles are different so this may not mean anything for you, but I swear when I heard someone had a boy I immediately brace myself to hear some sort of Finn variant.
I'd say that Phineas seems like a better fit with your kids...Theon is a new one to me, but I actually think I'd prefer Thelonious.
Hi there.
I much prefer Phineas, & was also super annoyed when I first heard of the Disney cartoon.
