I like it. I like the meaning, particularly, and the quirkiness of it. I'm sure a lot of people will think of Felix the Cat, but I tend to go right to Felix Unger, the uptight one from "The Odd Couple," so it seems like a totally doable person name to me.

I know someone who used this as a mn for their son. He is a real sweetheart :) Also a woman on another board named her son this recently. It's hard to say if it sounds trendy because I think it has elements that attract modern parents, yet it's not super common, yet. That probably doesn't help answer your question. You might get a better idea of trendiness if you ran a poll. Polls can be easier for people, sometimes.

I love it! It's on my list, too.

To me, it sounds prissy. I think it's the kind of name that parents interested in different but familiar names like, but that would be a burden for a kid. Don't get me wrong: I love different names. This one just feels wrong.

To me, Felix either sounds feline, or uppity. I cannot find it an appealing boys name, sorry.

It makes me think of a latino gang member.

I like Felix. SSA.gov indicates that it is becoming slightly more popular, but not by much. I think it has a quirky-cool feel to it that could be attractive to modern namers. To me it has a similar feel as Milo - don't know why. I like it a lot.

It has a great meaning (happy/merry) and a cool sound. It is shortish, easy to say and spell, and well-known without being common in any age group. I do think of the cat but I like that feline vibe to it. (I also think of a lion when I hear Leo, which comes up very frequently and many seem to like. It doesn't seem uppity at all--maybe young, blond, and mischievous? I am sure if you chose it for your son, people he knows would associate it with him. I say go for it.
