Allison is a beautiful name. It is classic and looks great in several spellings. My sister's name is spelled Alieson, which is French. While her name is beautiful, she has often wished it was spelled more classically because it is almost always mispelled. I, however, think Alieson is great too! Just something to think about. Great choice!

What about Alice? You still get the nn Ally, but her fn will not be as common.

I was never a fan of this name. I don't like any girl's names that end in "-son"... As an alternative, though, I DO like Alisanne... it's pretty similar... I don't know if it's a "made up" name, but I do like it better...

My dd's name is Alice Amelia. I also love the name Alice Anne. (Not sure if it's hyphened or not.) I knew a girl in school with this name; She was a sweetie. I don't love the name Allison, but I have known a couple of nice girls with this name - usually called Ally.

My DSD is Allison Marie (Allison is her mother's middle name; very ironic but Marie is my middle name!) I don't know if my DH's ex knows that so it's pretty funny!

Anyway we call her Allie or Al for short.

We are starting to TTC next week and if we conceive a girl we are going to name her Emerson Rose Jeannette. We want to keep the names sounding similar. Allison / Emerson

I have a DS named Hunter so if we have a boy we like Oscar (DH grandpa and end sounds close)

I wouldn't have personally picked Allison even if I didn't already have one. I like Addison, Teagan, Morgan, Emily, Emerson

Good luck!
