What do you think about the name :
Analea
Pronounced Anna-Leah. I like Ivy Analea for a girl, or Analea Ivy. I could also spell it Annalea. I think I like the smaller spelling better though. I would call my daughter Ivy.

I was just going to caution the spelling since there is "anal" in the beginning. Annalea doesn't make that teasing potential as evident, if that is a concern at all.

If you're calling her Ivy, then name her Ivy. And, seriously, if you're calling her Ivy, then don't make people stumble over a misspelled, weirdly pronounced, combination-type name, when she's just going to have to correct them and say, "Oh, I go by Ivy...my middle name." I cannot tell you how many times she'll have to do this...the first day of every year of school, every time she has a job interview, doctor's appointments, and about a million others.
As for the name itself, imagine, for instance, her high school and college graduations, when her name will almost certainly be mispronounced over a loud speaker. Have you considered Ivy Anna-Leah? I really think this sounds better, actually, than Anna-Leah Ivy, even without considering the whole calling her by her middle name thing.
Interesting example: a family friend had a baby a few years ago and named her Morgan Annaclaire. They call her Annaclaire. Yes, that is a HUGE combination name, because the parents were indecisive and couldn't choose between naming her Morgan and naming her Anna Claire. So, forever, the child will live with a weirdly spelled name...and it's not even her first name. If they weren't just going to name her Anna Claire, wouldn't it at least have been kinder to name her Morgan Anna-Claire, so that the name was at least recognizable?
Anyway, in a nutshell, I like the name, but I don't like the invented spelling. I also like Ivy as a FIRST name...Ivy Anna-Leah is very pretty...go with this!
OK, my last post was more heated than it should have been. Clearly, everyone on this board has her THING...that thing that really irritates her about baby names. Sometimes, it's names that are really nouns (Hero and Heaven, as we've seen recently; Destiny; Trinity; etc.). For some, it's the super-common names (all the Bradens, Kaylas, Katelyns, etc.). For others, it's using really youthful names, but not considering that the child will grow up (Gracie, Misty, etc.). I have two: calling children by their middle names, and weird, impossible to pronounce spellings...and unluckily, this post combined both of those. So, anyway, I never got around to saying how much I really, really like the name Ivy, and how much I really, really like the name Ivy Anna-Leah. Very pretty!
Also, a pp suggested Annalia, which would solve the pronunciation problem, but not the weird spelling problem. But, because it's recognizable, I think it's a great alternative to Analea, if you're not open to the hypenated middle name. Ivy Annalia...also very pretty. And, by the way, thanks to a pp, now, all I can see when I look at Analea is "Anal," so I've completely abandoned all spellings with a single "n."
:-)
Thanks to all who responded to my post. I will not be spelling it Analea, since now I will see the Anal in bold letters. I try to stay away from hyphenated names. I like small names, that don't need a nick name, such as Ivy, Mia, and Ava. I will most likely go with Ivy Annalea, or Ivy Annalia. I have always liked Lea spelled without the h. If I get really crazy, I might even go with Ivy Anna Lea McCloud.

I love it, and all the spellings like Annalia, Analia, Annaleah, Analeah, etc!
good choice,
Sunny
