I voted for alexandra. There are cute nicknames like Alex, Alexa, Alexis, Alli etc. Whereas anna doesn't have any nicknames.

I voted for Anna. I think it is pretty and simple and classic. You could always use NN Ann/Anne or Annie, as well.

I guess I'm a little biased against Alexandra because I don't like the sound of any Alex-names (Alexander, Alexis, etc). I just don't find the AL-EX sound pleasing at all. It seems boisterous to me. Alexandra in particular feels very pretentious (no offense) and I think that most Alexandras would use NN (Alex for example) and that really isn't my style.

If you like long feminine names, I think Anna would blend well with very flowery MN, say Anna Gabriela, Anna Sophia, etc.

HTH!

My dd Anna goes by Annie!!! But she has the more formal name of Anna to use if she chooses. Anna is a beautiful, classic, timeless name (of course I'm not biased at all! LOL!)
