I think Ashley and Kaylee are overused. Hannah is very popular, or was a few years ago, but it has such a long history of use and a beautiful meaning that I think it is still a great name.

All three names are popular right now imo, but I love Hannah-it's classic imo...however, I probably wouldn't use it right now because it is so popular.

good luck!

I like all 3 names although Ashley and Kaylee are my faves and I voted Ashley. I hear Hannah the most here in New Jersey. We don't know any Ashley's around here and only 1 Kayleigh and she is a neice. Goodluck choosing.

I love Hannah. It is very popular, but very pretty. According to the SSA, it was #3 in 2002. I do think it is dropping, however. I found 2 vared spellings.

Ashley is ok, not a favorite, seems a little insubstantial. It was #6 in popularity in 2002, there are also 4 other spellings I found.

Kaylee is way too insubtatnital & forever 4, imho. It was #58 in 2002. It becomes #20 when you add together various spellings. Plus, take into consideration all the Kaylas, Mikaylas & Kailyns that may go by Kaylee or at the very least have incredibly similar names.

If you're worried about over use, maybe look beyond the top 50. There's still several *normal* names there, but they aren't as used. (Also, when you come across a name like Hailey or Kaylee that has several spellings, take that factor into consideration when considering popularity as the SSA list doesn't combine spellings, each is a separate listing.)

I guess it just depends on where your from. I hardly ever hear the name Kaylee - that is why we have chosen it for our baby (if a girl). My oldest daughter is an Ashley, but we named her 8 years ago - popular then, but not like it is now. Way over used these days!

I think if you really like the names it shouldnt matter if it's too popular. Go with what you want!

I am probably going to name my daughter Kayleigh...I keep hearing (from folks on these boards) that it is WAY too popular, but honestly, I don't know any. So, to me, it doesn't seem popular. Also, I know several Ashleys (spelled various ways) but they are all my age...I don't know any under the age of 10. Hannah, however, is a beautiful name, but is all over the place. I couldn't even begin to count all of the Hannah's that I know of - at least 5 & I didn't even have to think about it. Anyway, my point is that the popularity of a name is very regional and the SSA takes in every single name...just because its # 20, or #2 - it may not be popular in your area.

Good luck. Don't worry about overuse.

I agree with the previous poster, for many names popularity is regional. I live in North Texas, and I only know two Hannahs----there's only one in our school (over 700 students), and one is a preschooler (a teacher's daughter). I know several Kaylees of various spellings---my favorite one is Kayli, in third grade. I know tons of Ashleys---three live on my block! Ashley is 10, Ashleigh is 5, and Ashlee is four.

I like all three names. Hannah is the most classic and has the most grown-up potential and staying power, in my opinion.

I voted for Hannah.
