I know exactly what you mean...what I think dh and I shoot for with names is something that isn't ultra popular (I know you have no idea what will *get* so popular after you choose it, but you can have some idea when you name a child of a name's popularity).

For instance, I don't strive for a child having 3 of his/her name in school growing up! It's funny, because my dh's name is very common (Charles) and mine is very much not, at least not in the U.S. (Marguerite)-so we just want something in between for our kids. Trevor was 80-something in the SS name list when we named him (2 years ago) and his name has gone down since (I think it's around 100 now). I have only run into a couple of people who know Trevors, much less metany in person. Now, Allison is much more common-45th I think, something like that...but dh and I both love it...and I think Allie is a really cute nn, but Allison is a nice name for an . And Kavita actually came from us looking for a mn with ethnic significance from either dh or I (my ethnicity is East Indian, and his is German/Native American), so we just looked up names and found Kavita and loved it (it's East Indian) :) I figure we can call her Kavi at home-so cute :) Keturah is beautiful, I like it :)

Anyway, I know I rambled on and on here...LOL...but I appreciate your comments a lot :)

Other boy's names I like are Landon, Ashton, Ian, Toby, - and I like Holden and Jonah, but dh doesn't. He likes Devin.

Love the story behind Kavita-definitely a keeper! I also agree on popularity issue and think Trevor & Allison are in the same "vein" all the way around.

The list of other boy names you like has real potential. Landon, Ashton or Ian is GREAT with Trevor. I really like Asher better than Ashton, but both are nice names. Do keep this in mind, if you go with Ashton this time, and then decide to have baby #3 and it's a girl, then Allison is out, IMO. The reason I tell you this is that I didn't think that far ahead. My fave girl name in the world was Gretchen and Dh loved too. We had a son first and named him Grantson, never realizing that we effectively eliminated ever having a daughter named Gretchen. Because with my naming taste, it was just WAY TOO CLOSE. Just a thought for you...

Keep in touch and take care, Ginger
