Audra has a very simple, classic, feminine feel to me. I love to hear this name used. ;)

Mia is "cute," but, well, I guess that's just it. It's a fine nn, but I'd much prefer it with a full given name -- Amelia, Emelina, Maria, Miriam, etc. There are so many possibilities! ;) As a given name, I'd assume the child was Spanish or Italian.

Since I assumed the poll was between these two, I fully expected to vote for Audra. I also think Jane is a sweet, spunky mn (in this day and age, now that it's "filler" status seems to have worn off ). Unfortunately, I don't like the two together. I just have trouble saying the -dra J- part, since the sounds are very similar.

Sooooooo ... I ended up voting for Evelina (which I'm guessing you added to the original poll, since it's not in the thread title and I don't see it below now LOL). Are you planning on pronouncing this ev-e-leen-a? If so, I absolutely love it. I also love Eveline.

Everyone seems to like Audra, but personally, I don't care for it. It reminds me of a large old woman. Just has a hard sound to me that isn't pretty. I like Mia. Are you pronouncing it MEE-ah or MY-a? I like it either way. We have friends that named one of their daughters Mia (pronounced MY-a), and it's such a nice name on her. It doesn't sound cutsie to me like some say... I can see a grown woman pulling this name off nicely.
Anyway, hope this helps. Evelina is pretty too--has a nice feminie sound (not a hard sound like AU-dra).

Thanks for your thoughts. I like Evelina (pronounced ehv-uh-leen-uh), but DH can't stand it. I did put that in the poll last minute. I'm afraid it's just too much of a strange name to use. My grandmother's name is Evelyn, but I don't like Evelyn for a first name.

Otherwise, I like Mia (mi-uh) and DH likes Audra. I think Audra is fine, but it doesn't sound "nice" to me. I keep thinking others will mistake it for Audrey.

Any suggestions for middle names other than Jane for Audra?

Thanks,
Kelly

I like Audra a LOT, but I think it's a little awkward with Jane as the middle name.

The "-dr-" and "j" sounds are very similar...
