Looking for a baby girl name. We already have one dd - Bella Gacy. I like something different and maybe a little off the wall. My mother's name is Marie everyone calls her Rie. I would kind of like to incorporate Rie into a name but not sure how. Please help.

Thanks

What about Rhiannon? The "Rhi" has the same sound as "Rie" and it's a little off beat and different (only 349 of them born in the US last year). I think Bella and Rhiannon would be a really cute sibling set.

A variation of that name is Rhianne or Rianne. Also Rianna.

Others that have "rie" or "ri" in them:

Valerie
Brie
Dorie
Laurie
Rosemarie
Prairie
Torie
Riva
Risa
Rini

Someone mentioned Rhiannon, but you could also go with the similar Rhianna or just Rhianne. I like them all, but my favourite is Rhea - "ree-uh". There is a little girl on my street named Rhea (ironic, because her mn is Isabella and her mom sometimes uses the nn Bella) and I think it is just beautiful on her.

Names I like with Bella:

Sage

Courtney

Macy

Laurel

Lola

Neve

Kiersten

Chloe

Clara/Claire

Sasha

Shae

I would avoid another B name, and -elle names (Gabrielle, Isabel, Giselle, Elle, etc.) as they don't go well with Bella.

With Bella, I love the previous poster's suggestion of Marina.

Bella and Marina are both very Italian and exotic... plus, Marina clearly gives you the "Rie" link to your mom, Marie.

Good luck!

Why not just name her Marie/Maria?

The only thing I can think of is Rianne or Rianna. Rielly would have the spelling but not the sound you're looking for. I guess there are lots of names you could spell with an "rie" at the end instead of the traditional spelling-Hillarie, Mallorie. I'll have to say I'm not a fan of playing with the spelling, but that doesn't matter if you're okay with it. Oh yeah, Brie seems to be a hot name right now. Good luck!
