So my dh has a cousin named Jacob. He lives out of state, and we maybe see him once a year. He has never lived in the same state as my dh, so they're not very close. Well, the problem is that sometimes people call him Jake....Not often, but sometimes. To be honest, I've only known him as Jacob, but of course some people shorten it for Jake. Well Jake is mine and dh's #1 name for our son due this October. Do you think it's weird/bad if we use Jake? I don't think so at all.....I mean, this cousin is a distant relationship...We never seem him!

What do you think? Thanks for your feedback! :)

too distant....I would go for it!

I liked Nicolas for my son.
But my SIL had 3 nephews...Jeff, Nick and Nick....so my son would mean she had 4 nephews...Jeff, Nick, Nick and Nick.
We are close to her so I passed on Nick.

Your Jake should be fine.

I don't think it's weird or bad to use the name.

I found out after we had Cassidy that one of my cousins already has a Kassidy (obviously, we're not close!). In fact, my grandparents have 20 great-grandchildren, and so far, three names have been used twice. It really doesn't
