Is Bailey for a boy or girl?

When you hear Bailey, do you instantly think of a little boy or girl? Too me, from a certain view, it can be very masculine. But from another point (and perhaps a different spelling like Baylee) it would be feminine. In our case we would be using it for a boy with the spellig Bailey. DH insists on naming the other twin Ty if it is a boy as well. I suggested Tyler and Bailey, but of course he doesn't like it. TIA!

First I think of it as a name for a BOY. Then, I think of it as a last name. I wouldn't use it for a girl.

I think of it as a boy's name. I think it's masculine even tho I know a little girl named Bailey.

I hope I don't offend you. But Bailey is a girls name to me at least so I guess it is called unisex but so is Tyler. So your in my view your possibly putting your boys up for teasing. But other than that I do like both names.

Good luck,

Shelby

Well, I think girl because my darling niece is named Bailey. But I have heard of boys with the name, though I don't know any personally.

I noticed Bailey in the BOYS section of a baby name book, and I think it's a hideous name for a girl, anyway. It looks and sounds like Bailiff. I don't know, I just don't think it's feminine at all. I wouldn't choose the name for a boy OR girl, so I wouldn't be putting any of my children up for teasing.

Honestly, the 1st thing I think is dog. My sister had a dog named Bailey and I guess that pegged the name as canine for me. As far as boy/girl, I think it seems slightly more feminine, but could work for a boy.

I think Bailey is a very cute name, but all girl to me. I live in TX and I know three little Baileys, all girls.

Ty and Tyler are all boy to me also. I was surprised that one of the other posters thought Tyler could be for a girl, but you never know! Good luck!

I don't like Bailey for either one - for that exact reason - it CAN BE for either one.

also - if you're having twin boys, to name one of them a name that is sometimes used for girls doesn't seem too fair. people will think you have boy/girl twins

Ty by itself is not good.

good luck
