DH and I are Stephanie Renee and Frederick Scott. (DH goes by his mn.)
Our DDs have family names in the mn slot -- DH's aunt and my maternal grandmother.
Our DDs are biological, but baby #3 will be adopted and likely African-American/biracial.
Because our last name is difficult, we like names that aren't difficult to spell or pronounce. DH doesn't care how common a name is, but I'd prefer it to not be in the top 10. His current favorites are Katherine and Erin, and he generally vetoes my favorites. :-P
Jeanette is not my my favorite name, but it combines our moms' middle names (Jean and Annette). Since I'd like to honor them if we have another girl, I'm considering it. I also see Jane as a short way to combine their names.
Alice is DH's maternal grandmother's mn.
Frances was my paternal grandmother's mn. She's no longer living, and she basically raised my dad (an only child) on her own. I'd love to honor her in some way. Her first name was Marilyn, so if I pick a "Mary" first name, I'll feel like that was honoring her as well.
I'd love more suggestions if anyone has them as well!
Thanks,
Stephanie
I like Amelia Jane with your other girls' names. ;)

I'm glad you posted because I was gonna ask if you were pregnant! :-)
I love the sound of Eleanor Frances!
Since you've already switched initials, MJ and then JM, I think you should go MJ again. I voted Marina. Marina Jeanette or Marina Jane to get the MJ initials.
Terra.

LOL! It does seem like the obvious choice, doesn't it? We really didn't plan for the girls to have reversed initials, but we'd already decided on the mn May, and the only fn we could agree on was Julianna. I wouldn't mind continuing the pattern, but I'm not set on it, and I'm a little worried that if we do it this time and have baby #4, we'll be stuck!
Oh, and if you want to know another pattern, the names we most often go by in our family (Scott, Steph, Megan, and Annie) all have 5 letters. I realized that when I was writing on gift tags at Christmas last year. (I normally sign my name Stephanie unless I don't have enough room.)
Thanks for your input!

Thanks! I *loved* Amelia May or Amelia Jane, nn Mia, for our 2nd DD, but I couldn't quite get DH on board. He said all he could think of was Amelia Bedelia even though I pushed the Amelia Earhart angle as much as I could. Maybe if I still love it this time around, he'll finally give in. ;-)

LOL! After 2 back-to-back pregnancies, I have no desire to be pg again right now. (Megan will be 3 in June, and Annie is almost 17 months.) I didn't have easy pregnancies either, so we're looking at adoption this time since our family doesn't quite feel complete. Hopefully, we'll start the process this summer and be on a waiting list by fall so that our kids will all be about 2 years apart.
I never liked Eleanor or Frances until I was pg with my 2nd DD, and they've continued to grow on me since then. I also really like the nn Nora. (We're very much a formal name with nicknames kind of family. :-) )
Hope your pregnancy isn't treating you too badly -- I saw your morning sickness blinky. :-(
Thanks for your vote!

Thanks! I'm surprised somebody picked Renee since nobody ever seems to like it. I've always like the flow of my name, and I think that Renee is much nicer than the standard Marie. Georgia's probably the name I'm least sure about on my list, but I've been trying it out lately, and it's been growing on me. DH probably won't ever go for it, but I figure it can't hurt to try. :-)
