I totally agree with the JR thing, Brooke. The baby should have his own name. David in the middle is fine, or naming him after a more distant relative. (Like a grandpa or great uncle or another beloved)

I'm not a fan of Jr's but I really like Dawson regardless.

I voted for David until I saw the suggestion for James Dawson. Changed the whole feeling, I think that is very strong. I would trust James Dawson with my life. Yeah, good name. Good Luck :)

Well thank you all for your suggestions. We pretty much agree that for us a JR is not the way to go. We like Dawson but we also really liked another suggestion which was Jameson David, however Jameson means son of James. We really like how Dawson means son of David, and for everyone who said Dawson reminded them of Dawson's creek really wasn't being too fair. My name is Rachel which is a huge character on friends. And to all the little Austin's out there Austin Powers ring a bell? Or how about the up and coming Ella? Ella Fitzgerald? Ethan- Ethan Allen, Paige- also known as a piece of paper, but spelled different. Ok I think you got my point, but thanks for your opinions anyway. We're very excited that we are having a little boy!

I really don't like the "jr" thing, but I had to vote for David b/c I think the name Dawson is more of a boy's name than a grown man's name. I'm not sure it would hold up as well as David in the long run.
