Arynne isn't growing on me at all. I love the name Erin but every time I see the Arynne spelling, the first thing I think of is Aryan, which has very negative associations.

I voted for Jennica Renee because I think it has a nice flow. It's very pretty and feminine.>>>

ITA. I don't mind Jennica Renee, so it gmv easily, but Arynne just looks like Aryan (immediately bringing to mind the KKK and other racist connotations). I'd have to pass on that.

How is Aryan pronounced anyway? I never even heard of it till someone brought it up a few months ago. And what about the name Arianne/Arianna? That looks like it'd be pronounced the same, but yet it's quite a popular name...

Ariane and Arianne are pronounced the same as Aryan, (both AR-ee-en and AIR-ee-en are used, sometimes the names are pronounced with an -anne at the end instead of the -en) so spelling is very important.

Ariane/Arianne/Ariana is usually thought to be related to the welsh word arian, meaning silver. Some sources list them as a varient of Arienne (also pronounced the same). Arienne is a French variation of the Greek Ariadne. I think the exact meaning of Ariadne is not known, but in mythology she gave Theseus a thread so he could find his way out of the minotaur's labyrinth, so "thread" is sometimes used.

Aryan has been perverted into a racial term (mostly by Nazis and other racists) indicating a person of Nordic, or at least purely European, origin. It actually is the name of the supposed "parent language" from which Indo-European languages sprang and the name of the people who spoke it. It has no ethnological significance of its own. I believe the word Aryan is persian (Iranian) in origin, but I could be wrong.

Btw, I also voted for Jennica Renee. I couldn't get past the Aryan association.

Just dittoing everyone else. I like Jennica Renee a lot. I've always liked Jennica even though it's not a name that is really my style and Jennica Renee has a very pretty flow.

I like Erin, but Arynne immediately brings to mind Aryan, and that connotation is too horrible for me to even consider it. I was stear clear of any spelling that is too close to Aryan.

If it were between Jennica Erin and Jennica Renee, I'd probably still go with Jennica Renee, but it would be a much more difficult decision.

It took me a couple minutes to try and figure out how to say Arynne. The first thought that came to me was more like Irene and then Erin. If you like the "Erin" pronounciation why not use Erin? Just my thoughts.

Although, I still prefer the flow of Jennica Rene to Jennica Arynne.
