Blue, Dawn, Praise or ??
- Eden Blue
- Eden Dawn
- Eden Praise
- Eden Annette
- Eden Alice
- Explanations:
- I've always loved "Blue" for a mn; Dawn is *my* mn,
- Praise is a Bible word name we like, and finally
- "Annette Alice" was my dh's sis who died 3 years ago

I think that Blue, Dawn and Praise are a bit too much with Eden - because they are all "words" -- as is Eden. Also, I think of Blue as a dog's name - I know many canines with that name.
I love the combination of Eden Annette, especially with the family significance, so that got my vote. Very pretty.
AJ, enjoying life with C.
I would definitely avoid Eden Praise -- because that screams "religious fanatic" to me. I think it's great to honor your faith by using one or the other, but I wouldn't use both. I would also avoid Eden Blue and Eden Dawn because both tend to sound like phrases similar to Georgia Skye or Autumn Raine. It makes the name sound like a cutesy gimmic and takes away from the beauty of the individual names.
I love the idea of honoring your sister-in-law by using part of her name. I love the name Alice, but I think Annette flows better with Eden. So my vote went to Eden Annette.
Lol, well we would be considered "religious fanatics" by some -- it's funny I don't really relate the name Eden to the Bible so much; think of it more as just a pretty name. So then "Praise" is where our spiritual leanings come in. But I can see what you're saying!
One friend said her concern with the name Eden would be the pronunciation ... would it be EED-n, or EE-den. The difference is slight, but in the second the "D" is more annunciated. I think her concern was that she didn't like the first one (eed'n), but I actually prefer that one. One baby name book I read commented on Eden's "two long E's". WHAT?! That cracks me up.

I like the name "Blue" also.
It could be used for either boy or girl.
"Uma Blue",
"Tulalah Blue",
"Judith Blue",
"Ursula Blue",
"Truth Blue",
"Luela Blue".
These are some suggestions for a girl.
I like "Uma Blue", or "Luela Blue" best......
Well, for what it's worth, I pronounce it EED'n. I prefer that as well. EE-den isn't bad either, but I like EED'n best.
As for the religious aspect, I actually like Praise as a middle name for a family like yours that values their faith/religion. I just think it's too much with Eden. I think it would be a nice tie for a younger sister though. It continues the biblical word theme without being matchy (in the way that using multiple virtue names: Hope and Faith, etc. would be). Eden Annette and Alice Praise for example would be a really cute sibling set.
Re: Uma Blue
I wouldn't recommend the name of a Hindu goddess for a very Christian family! ;)
