Boy names to go with Raymond

My husband would really like to name our baby (if it's a boy) after his grandpa, Raymond, either in the fn or mn. I prefer it in a mn, but will take suggestions either way! Right now we're thinking of Jonas Raymond. Jonas is my great-grandpa's name. Thanks for the input!

I like Raymond - it sounds kind of regal. But I don't love nn Ray, so I'm with you - I'd use it as a mn.

I also like the name Jonas. It doesn't sound perfect with Raymond, but it doesn't sound bad, either.

Maybe you could use one name or the other for this child, and save the other for a future son? If so, you could use a fn this time that sounds like a brother to Jonas (future son), and sounds nice with mn Raymond.

A few suggestions: Derrick, Garrett, Nicholas, Daniel, Benjamin, Jack, Carson, Carter, Matthew

Good luck!

I think Jonas Raymond is really nice!

Also suggest :

James Raymond/Raymond James (nn J.R. or R.J. if you like)

Anthony Raymond/Raymond Anthony

Eric Raymond

Garrett Raymond

Jesse Raymond

I think I like Jonas Raymond the best because it honors someone from each side of the family :)

Good Luck!

My dh's grandfather was a Raymond also and I've gotten lots of pressure from that side of the family to name this baby Raymond. I'm not crazy about it as a fn either, but I think it can be a workable mn. We're thinking we're not going to use it for this kiddo since it doesn't go with any of the fn we love, but one suggestion would be to use the middle name Rae or Ray in lieu of Raymond. I like Jonah Raymond or Jonah Ray - either would be a great compromise, great name and probably really please your dh's side of the family!

Best wishes!
