Boy/Girl Name

If I have a boy I would like to name him after his father, Mike, full name is Mikeithany (pronounced Mi-keith-any) Laron. He already has a son, Mikeithany Lee, that goes by "Mikey". How does Mikennen (Mi-ken-nen) Laron sound? Or does anyone have a suggestion for a middle name or another name that sounds like Mike?

If I have a girl I would like to name her Mikayla, maybe with the mn Brooklynn or even with Laron (Larron). Any suggestions?

if he already has a son named for him, I don't think he needs another son named for him.

since the first one does not have the same middle name, I would pick an entirely different first name, but have Laron as the middle name.

if it's a girl and you go with Mikayla, I don't think that's as bad as having two boys with almost the same name. plus, a lot of Mikayla's end up being called Kayla.

good luck.

Why do they all have to be named after him? He didn't carry the baby and deliver it! :)

Aren't there any people on your side of the family or friends that you might like to honor?

Just wondering!

I do like Mikayla, but I think two siblings both beginning with Mik is a bit much.

How about Keith? Still honors dad, but is totally different from the other son's name. I think Keith Laron would be nice.

For a girl, I think Mikayla is okay. Laron reminds me of Lauren, so you could use that after dad's name too. Lauren Michaela? Mikayla Lauren? Laron sounds okay as a girls middle name too. Michelle could also honor dad's name.

Well actually that is why I like Mikennen b/c my Dad and my late Grandfather's name is Kenneth (my dad goes by something else but my Grandfather went my Ken). Sometimes I regret not naming my son from a previous relationship (Jakob "Tyler") after someone and also giving him a very common name - I was really young.

I think the name Mikeithany sounds awfully made up...while Mikennen is better, the spelling is horrible IMHO... is there a reason behind all of your dh's progeny being self-named? McKennen is cute for a boy tho, and McKenna is cute for a girl, but the name and spelling of Mikayla is jnms... i like Brooklyn as well, but question yr spelling with the two n's...

good luck!

I'm speaking as someone whose DH is from his father's "first family." Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I can't help but think of the stories my DH has told me about how much things changed once his father had children with his second wife. But I think it would be an insult to name your baby something so close to your step-son's name. It would be like saying that he doesn't count and another baby has to be named after your DH. I am sorry if I have gotten this wrong, but as I said, I'm seeing it from another perspective. I don't mean to offend you.

I am thinking that 2 boys related to the same family cannot have the same or same sounding name. I think Kenneth Laron for a boy and Brooke Lauren (or Laron) for a girl sound good. Or maybe if you have a girl give her your first or middle name as a middle name to honor yourself. What about another M name for a son-Mason, Matthew, etc.

Good Luck!

I agree with Midwestmom on the name Lauren Michaela for your daughter, and Keith Laron for son........though if you'd rather honor your side with Kenneth and his side with Laron, Kenneth Laron, that's nice too. Keith or Kenneth iather one is not extremely popular and both sound nice with Jakob or Tyler.

Mikayla is really wonderful, but your're already honoring dad so use another mn besides Laron.

I'm sorry by Mikennen is nmsaa. I haven't ever heard it and I surely don't like it. Laron is also nmsaa. The name Kennen/Kennon is okay.

Good Luck,

Brooke
