Hey Ladies! Looking for first impressions of the name Bridget. Love it? Hate it? We love classic names that sound girly and are not too trendy. Lily and Emma are my two all time favorites, but with their high popularity, I am looking at alternatives.

So thoughts on Bridget? :-)

Thanks!

I adore Bridget. It's classic, classy, underused and will age well. Two thumgs up!

I had a bad association with the name in the past (well, not the name itself ... long story LOL), but I like it so much I've gotten past it. ;) So my first impression, past association aside, is that I really love the name.

I really like it a lot! I think you're right on the money with Bridget being classy and girly without being trendy (or too cutesy to work on a grown woman).

Bridget is actually very high up on my girls name list! I came up with a 4-girl sibling set that I love (but DH says this would never happen, lol). It is: Bridget, Kiersten, Laurel, Tessa.

Anyway, I think Bridget is a great choice!

I like it though I prefer the spelling/slight pronunciation difference of Brigid. Its actually one of the mn's for this baby because my grandfather upon meeting my DD (who is now 2 and named Niamh (pr. neev) said "Why couldn't you give her a nice normal name like Brigid LOL...so this new baby if a girl will be Isla (eye-la) Isadora Brigid :)

Its a great name!

I like it. I think of a girl with a fun personality, but who is also really smart.
Good luck!

I've always loved Bridget. I have a couple Irish cousins named Bridget and I think it's so pretty.
