Hey Ladies! Looking for first impressions of the name Bridget. Love it? Hate it? We love classic names that sound girly and are not too trendy. Lily and Emma are my two all time favorites, but with their high popularity, I am looking at alternatives.

So thoughts on Bridget? :-)

Thanks!

I love Bridget. I have only met 1 in my life so I think it is fairly uncommon. It seems strong to me, definately not too girly, but also classy. I love it.

Well, looks like I'm the only one with a negative comment on the name Bridget. I knew a couple Bridgets growing up, and we ALWAYS called them both Bridget the Midget. I think it's one of those unavoidable things kids will do with this name....

Hi, Steph. ;) Just wanted to say how much I like all the names you've chosen. Niamh and Isla are perfect sister names! What is/are Niamh's mn(s), if you don't mind my asking?

My answer:

Niamh is Niamh Beatrix Anne and my DS is Rhys Christopher William (we do 2 middle names because one name honours my side of the family and one name honours DHs).

For this baby to be our picks are for a girl (as previously stated) Isla Isadora Brigid and for a boy we just changed it to Eoin Nicholas Russell.

I think we picked a pretty good balance of hard to spell but easy to say LOL...but hey at least they are all short ;)

Wonderful sib set! All great names, Steph ... it seems you can't go wrong. ;)

Did you post here when expecting Niamh, btw? Your sn is so familiar, and my 2nd dd was born December 15, 2004, so I thought maybe you were around then too.

I have always loved Bridget. I don't think I've ever met one, although my "french name" in French class was Brigitte. :)

Go for it. Makes me think "mature, classy, pretty, sweet."

AJ, enjoying life with C.
