If you're worried about her being assumed a boy, "Camryn" would almost definitely be thought female, but I voted for the properly-spelled Cameron for that exact reason.
I honestly don't get the reasoning that purposefully spelling a familiar name incorrectly somehow indicates femininity. Are we women inherently poor spellers? LOL Trust me, coming from a Kelli (to which I always have to add the phrase "with an 'i'"), it's annoying, sometimes

Cameron is a real name, with a history. I don't have any problem using the name for girls -- it was and is a surname, so there's no reason girls shouldn't use it, even if it has been "traditionally" a boy's name.
I really hate the Camryn spelling though. Why is it that a y is assumed to be a neutral vowel which can be used to replace any other? Why do we want to change the original name in the first place? It just seems silly and demeaning to take such a beautiful, strong name and turn it into a Kayla or an Kyleigh.
I voted for the Cameron spelling. Here are some more names that are similar to Cameron:
Brynn
Hadley
Harper
Teagan/Tegan
Landry
Dylan
Parker
Good luck,
Brooke
HTH.
Cameron is a strong, independant woman (think Cameron Diaz).
Camryn is trendy and looks as if you didn't put much thought into it.
