Is Cameron too feminine now?
- Asking for DH, we want to use Cameron but he fears it may be too girly
- due to Cameron Diaz, and the girls taking the name over
- What do you think?
- YES--Too feminine
- No--not feminine--Still a great boys name
- Thanks a bunch!
You will not be able to change your vote.

I don't think of it as a girls name at all ... it's just one of the many BOY names people seem to like to use for their little girls (meaning they have a boys name, not the other way around).
I voted that it was "not feminine - still a great boys name," but have really never liked the meaning of "crooked nose," if that will bother you.
However, if you like the meaning and the only thing holding you back is the "unisex" problem I wouldn't worry about it too much. Masculine names used on girls will only be considered feminine when parents such as yourselves stop using them for their little boys, so I say go for it (and help keep it a boy name! lol). ;)

Thanks for your thoughts. I know its the name we both have at the top of our list, but DH just wanted to be sure it is not now "a girl's name."
As far as the meaning, I never really put much thought into meanings, but the "crooked nose" thing sort of annoys me. I have not brought that up to DH yet to see if that changes his mind!!
Being we both have other names on our list, we will wait to see what name he looks like and decide then (but I have a strong feeling he will be Cameron Josesph!!!!!!!)
Thanks again for your thoughts!

I've never thought of Cameron as a girl's name - I know some people use it for that in various spellings but I think it's a masculine sounding name

With my DD1 we tossed around the name Camryn for a girl but decided against it in the end as it was associated with a boys name all the time.
I also like Cam for a boy's nn, so Campbell was a variation of Cameron that we quite liked.

I have mixed feelings on it. I have known of several baby boys near me named Cameron lately, but there are just enough girls that it makes you think
there will be both when your child gets to school. only you can decide if that will bother you
good luck
ITA! Like Avery, Conner, and Aidan, for example, it's just a boy's name that some people use for their daughters :) I think it's an awesome name for a boy. GL!
Thanks for everyone'e opinions!
