I like it very much. I just wanted to point out that those of use who aren't Jewish or have little to no experience with things Hebrew are probably going to pronounce this Chay-ah at first glance (like I did!). English phonics and Hebrew phonics just don't blend well!

Despite that, I still think it's a very pretty name with a lovely meaning.

I like the sound of it, but I couldn't vote.

I like the name, but I don't think that is how it is pronounced. It is pronounced more like hi-uh with a strong throaty H like Hannukah/Channukah.

I agee. I don't dislike this name but I don't think it is pronounced like Kaya. It should be pronounced with the throaty CH like Chava, Chanukah, Chai, Charoset, etc....

I've liked the name from the character in the movie Willow. I like it spelled Kaia.

I like the name. The other posters are correct that the Hebrew prn would be different, but I know a few people with this name and they all pronounce it Kie-Uh. I think you can compare it to other names that are Anglicized...like Caleb, which should be Kah-lev, and Deborah which should be Deh-vo-rah...

I knew how to pronounce it immediately, and I don't see how it would be any stranger than some other creative names I've seen!
