Dillon George or Dillon Singh?

  • Dillon George (George is my father's name)
  • Dillon Singh (DH is Indian and this is his middle name)

I voted for Singh - mostly because I so dislike the name George, but I'm posting mostly because I also dislike the spelling Dillon - Dylan is the much better spelling.

good luck

I much prefer the Dillon spelling to Dylan. I like Dillon George but as Dillon is obviously not Indian, I think that Singh is a nice connection to your DH's heritage.

I voted for Dillon Singh. Like the other posters, I too would spell Dillon as Dylan, since Dillon reminds me of pickles when shortened to Dill/Dil.

If I could rearrange your combos though, I'd go with George Singh. George is a long time favorite classic name of mine. George Washington, George Cohan, George Lucas, George Will, George Carlin, George Eastman... ( I could list famous Georges for hours but will stop here). Suffice to say, the name ages very, very well. Best of all, it's got a lovely connection to your father while the middle, Singh, links him to his father!

Actually (to clear the air)

As you and your DH are probably aware, Dillon is a common Indian name, as is Singh.

Actually Dhillon is how my DH wants to spell it but for me, that's too different. I like Dylan the "common" spelling so we compromised and are spelling it (if we use it) Dillon. DH is ok with that spelling because its the Gaelic spelling and he has this thing for the irish, lol.

Thanks!

I knew you would know that!

I'm all in favor of being creative with your names and putting your own personality into it :)

Love,
