Eleanor is lovely, but I don't like girl's names that end with -son. She won't be the "son of" whomever, she'll be a daughter.

I know a lot of people here don't like "son" names for girls but it is sort of a family tradition. My name is Allison and DH is Jason. Our DS is William Jackson. I figure it isn't that big of a deal to use a "son" middle name for a girl. Besides, some of them like Madison aren't used for boys.

Middle names with some family meaning are nice, so if one of those fits the bill, then that's what I'd chose.

I voted for Eleanor Addison.

Grayson sounds boyish to me, and Jamison IS a boy name (sorry, but I've only ever known boys with this name ... especially since it's akin to naming her Eleanor, James' son).

I actually like the sound of the name Emerson (no idea why, because it doesn't really match my usual naming style), but wouldn't pair it with Eleanor because of the double E sounds, so that's out.

And Madison is just waaaaay too trendy to pair with such a classic name, IMO.

HTH!
